Mar Livre Association
We are a non-profit association based in Aljezur, dedicated to promoting adaptive surfing and the inclusion of all people in the ocean, regardless of physical, sensory, or intellectual limitations. We work to make the Aljezur coastline an accessible space, where surfing and nature are a right for everyone.
Our Mission
Our mission goes far beyond surfing. It is about inclusion, connection, intention, and community. We believe the ocean is for everyone — a space where all people can feel they belong, not because they have to adapt, but because they are welcomed exactly as they are.
At Mar Livre, we create space in the ocean for people of all abilities — physical, sensory, or intellectual — through adaptive surfing experiences that promote healing, empowerment, and connection. The ocean has the power to calm, restore, and bring us closer to nature and to one another. With safety, care, and professional support, we help each person discover new confidence, greater freedom, and new ways of being in the water.
